I'm confused..this piece most certainly deserves a DD, but if slevinaaron shot the picture, he should get the dd, or the category should be artisan craft.. ? I mean, what's the dd for, the headpiece, or the picture ?
It does say the feature is the designer, but it's hard to even see the detail when the piece in question isn't fully featured, nor in colour. I would take it up with Pixel-Spotlight if you don't approve of how the DD was presented.
(Although it IS a lovely piece, I too have concerns that the people coming to see the DD are focusing on the photography aspect rather than the prop/piece.)
Oh i think the DD is well deserved, i just consider the category is not right, it should be put in artisan craft and not photography if the DD is given for the headpiece. However if it was given for the photography, it's not quite fair for the artist who shot it.
Agreed. It IS a well deserved DD, the photo AND the jewelry.
I also agree it should be put in the proper category at least so the crafter isn't inadvertently taking credit for the photography. You should send a note to Pixel-Spotlight to mention that the DD category was misplaced.
Here is a list that can help you find out what volunteer is in charge of which area of dA:
From the looks of it, it should be Brookette and cakecrumbs who need to put this DD into the Artisan Crafts listing. Since that's what the actual artist did, the jewelry, not the photography. Or instead give the DD to the actual photographer (although that would seem 'mean' now to this artist). Someone had linked him on dA earlier (to a dA I believe) but now I can't find that link.
Again though, send one of the volunteers a Note. I don't know if they see mentions that fast, but they likely will see Notes much easier.
